ARMED.

Thor, the Havana, is definitely the heavyweight of the group - the tallest, longest and strongest - packed with muscular power, armed with tearing claws and sharp teeth - and he's no 'southpaw' in a boxing match either. If you make the mistake of trying to give him a pill that doesn't taste good, you will have to lift him bodily off the floor and wait till the hurricane dies down. I have seen the others (including Shastri) watching him with frank admiration.

DANGEROUS.

Shastri, the Oriental Ticked Tabby, is the leader of the gang, the one with the finest mind and best grasp of strategy. Shastri cannot best Thor in a fight but he is definitely the most confident and aggressive - always exhorting the others to keep fit, alert, and on their toes. For the most part Shastri is calm and relaxed but there is a dangerous glint in his eye - if he ever lost his temper, he would lose it in royal style. Another thing to remember is that he is a tough competitor at shows - bit of a sharp shooter when it comes to gunning down the prizes.

MAD.

I hardly need to explain in what way Fredi is 'mad'. He is a Red Tabby Point Siamese. I have heard of a Red Point Siamese called Meshuga Homewrecker and I have always felt it was the perfect name for any Red or Red Tabby Point Siamese. They have no intention of being bad, but are soft, soppy creatures who vocally demand love and attention - and they will wreck the house whether they get it or not. Fredi walks and talks non-stop and it would be far too quiet around here without him.

BAD.

Yes, this is a good word for Loki - the outdoor cat who is never up to any good and yet is friends with Thor. Look up your mythology - this is not why Loki was named but it all panned out. Loki is quiet, majestic and dignified, he also has a stolid resignation that allows him to ignore the ill-bred curiosity of Shastri and Fredi. He is friendly to human beings and likes to have a few select cat friends (such as Thor) but he will not make friends with all cats. He does likes to be pampered in the warm, especially now that he is getting on, but he enjoys his freedom and goes crazy if I try to keep him in. After all he is a working cat and has friends at the local ambulance station. They miss each other if he is away too long.

All these desperate characters are WANTED - to keep me company all the days of their lives. Yes, that's a stiff sentence, poor things.
