CAT CLUBS & ASSOCIATIONS Scottish Cat Club
Founded in 1894, the SCC is Scotland's oldest club, holding Scotland's largest shows. Some of the largest classes I've ever seen or participated in have been hosted by the SCC! If you are looking for kittens (of any breed) born and bred in Scotland, this site is worth checking for contacts.
Scottish Rex Cat Club
Here in the SRCC pages you might find a few leads towards owning your own Devon or Cornish Rex. You will certainly find a page of breeders who are members. In addition the SRCC Welfare Officer might have some details of older cats (of any breed) looking for new homes.
Havana and Oriental Lilac CC
The H&OLCC is small but friendly, and I am a member of it myself. You receive 3 newsletters a year! This is a good place to start your search for kittens - Oriental or Siamese. In particular you will find a very good list of breeders as well as the contact details of the club's Kitten Registrar.
Oriental Tabby Cat Club
Visit this site, leave a message in the GuestBook, send articles, or photos and stories of your own Oriental tabbies. There are quite a few out there, all with spots, stripes, whorls and ticking!
South Ribble Pet Cat Club
Fredi's cool e-mail friend Prince Nazeem belongs to this club; a friendly site you might like to visit. The Club may be able to help you in your search for an adult cat or kitten.
Caramel & Apricot Federation
The Caramel and Apricot Federation is a young club, still working towards affiliation with the GCCF. It should be able to help in your search for a cat, and this clear and informative site has a kitten list you might like to peruse.
Short-Haired Cat Society
The Short-Haired Cat Society has a good page of members' kittens seeking homes - you might find information on British Shorthairs, Orientals, Russians, Korats, Abyssinians and Burmese. There is also a rescue page for adult cats.
Burmese Cat Society
The website of the Burmese Cat Society provides a contact who will help you in your search for Burmese kittens (in or outside the UK) or adult Burmese cats needing new homes.
Semi Long Hair Cat Association
The SLHCA provides kitten lists which may include Birmans, Maine Coons, Norwegian Forests, Ragdolls, Somalis, and Turkish Vans. There is also a contact who might be able to help with kitten enquiries.
The GCCF
The Governing Council of the Cat Fancy. Information includes lists of affiliated cat clubs, forthcoming GCCF shows, and some guidance on choosing your first kitten, as well as a Code of Ethics for Breeders and Owners.
The CA
The Cat Association of Great Britain (CA) is the other British cat association. The GCCF is independent, but the CA is a member of the Fèdèration Internationale Fèline (FIFe). Here (among other things) you will find a breeder and kitten list, a list of forthcoming CA shows, and a list of CA clubs.
Siamese Cat Society of Scotland
The Siamese Cat Society of Scotland has a new site which is very welcome. Here you will find a Kitten Register as well as a Welfare and Rescue page.
CAT BREEDERS Inchindar Orientals & Siamese
Run by Vicky Scothern in England, who has a particular interest in ticked and shaded Orientals. She might just have a litter of charismatic Oriental or Siamese kittens looking for homes. Why not have a look and see?
Skwiglee Cats
Visit Vanessa Lee's Skwiglee cats if your fancy turns towards glossy chestnut Havanas (like Thor) or Cinnamons, Blacks, and other self-coloured Orientals. One of Vanessa's Havana boys is famous throughout the UK, and has twice been Best in Show Oriental at the National - so if you saw a Havana on TV, that was probably Vanessa's Harry!
Ravenscar Oriental LH Cats
Run by Edith de Geest - the cats on this site are a must-see. One interesting detail is that Edith's retired stud, Eager, though an Oriental SH Variant, looks like Shastri's twin! He had an equally bright show career.
Landican Orientals & Siamese
Pat Norman and Sarah Johnson run Landican in Surrey - they are experienced and well-known breeders of Siamese and Orientals. They specialize in reds, creams, and torties. Landican kittens are on the lookout for loving show or pet homes - check their kitten page to see if your future friend is waiting there for you.
Palantir
Julia May's Palantir prefix covers Siamese, Orientals and Angoras, particularly in the newer colours and patterns. Her site offers a wealth of information and links, such as the URLs of breeders of any breed of cat. Other links on this site include details of the Angora Breed Club, the Oriental Cinnamon & Fawn Group, and the Tabby Point Siamese and Progressive Breeders Cat Club.
The RED WEB
Fredi thinks you might like to gaze admiringly at the RED WEB if you have nothing else to do. In fact he says you shouldn't have anything else to do; that's a major failing of humankind.
Cherek Devon Rex
If you are looking for Devon Rexes in Scotland, try Cherek Devon Rex. There will be the occasional litter of predominantly red, cream, bicolour or si-rex kittens looking for a good home. However there may also be other colours such as lilac, chocolate, blue, black, brown, and tabby.
Cloudborn Cats
More Devon Rexes in Scotland! There will be the occasional litter looking for a good home from here too. My Oriental and Siamese cats were born in this place..... in a cloudy Scottish village at the top of a wee hill. Purrfect!
What is a Devon Rex?
Visit this page to catch a fleeting glimpse of the fantastic Devon Rex cat. There are a few contact links and email addresses if you are looking for a Rex in the UK.
Verismo Maine Coons
This site features
Maine Coon cats, kitten pictures and a winning cat in UK, England, Verismo Britannicus. It discusses patterns, colours, and personality. Original extensive content.
Feorag Somalis
A site worth visiting is Feorag Somalis in the North East of England. There are sometimes litters of Somalis and Siamese - not many, but Eileen Welsh is an experienced breeder, and you might be looking around at just the right time.
Ayshazen Bengals, Burmese & Tonkinese
Why not pay a visit to the Ayshazen cats in Dorset, UK? It is mostly Burmese kittens being bred just now (they have a beautiful dam!) but there might also be some pretty Bengal kittens available at the end of 2001, and Tonkinese kittens in 2002.
Rangoony Burmese
For kittens in the area of North London, have a look at Rangoony Burmese. Kittens born in this household are used to a busy homelife with a dog, cats, children, and adults bustling around, so if you're after a shrinking violet, this might not be the place to find one.
Mabellis British Shorthairs
If you fancy a plush Chocolate, Lilac or Colourpoint British Shorthair, visit the Mabellis breeders in West Yorkshire. Have a look at their website and see if any of their sweet-natured kittens are currently available. If not, visit their links page - there's a club link that might help in your search for a British Shorthair.
Glenafton Persians & Exotics
Glenafton Cats are located in Scotland. Annie Capstick breeds mainly dilute Bi- and Tri-colours in Persians and Exotics. Here you might find a list of the latest Glenafton kittens seeking good pet or show homes.
Blondbella Persians & Exotics
Blondbella Cats are in Yorkshire, England. Marianne Mays is the author of many books on cats, dogs, and other pets. She also breeds hamsters, mice and rabbits. If you are wanting a Persian or Exotic kitten, be quick, as many of them are probably already booked!
CAT WELFARE The HerbWeb
The HerbWeb is run by Thor's best friend Herbie. Herbie is in charge of a large community of cats, higgles and humans, and is blessed with strong and refreshing opinions on most aspects of life.
Feline Advisory Bureau
If you wish to learn more about cats and be involved in health and welfare issues, you might like to join the Feline Advisory Bureau. FAB is a charity which promotes the health and welfare of cats by making the latest information available to vets, cat breeders and owners.
PET HOMEPAGES Littleman Raffles
A very beautiful, laid-back and successful non-pedigree show cat who is also a member of the South Ribble Pet Cat Club. He has a lot of companions, some of them almost as successful. Just look at all their show results and rosettes!
Belly Up!
Run by Alicat - a wonderful page, packed with dozens of relaxed felines, including two of mine, a few of Carol's (owner of Raffles) and an Oriental of Sue's (Spider). Send your own 'belly up' photos for an airing, and admire the feline underside of life.
Amy's Place in Cyberspace
This is more of a general homepage than a cat page, but I have placed it here because there are cats and other pets in the 'Dear Pets' section. Amy's site is attractive, individual and imaginative, and I'm green with envy! Look here for astronomy, poetry, and fantastic photos of Florida among other things.
Catsup
Meet Spock and Dracs, 2 strong-minded Siamese cats who are published authors. All proceeds from their diaries go to the PDSA. There is a lot to see on this site, you could wander around in it all day. Add your link, vote on whether the next-door cats are really bimbos, submit one of your own felines as a cat of character - and that's just scratching the surface of what you can find on this site!
The Cats Whiskers
This site is well worth a visit - it is well laid out and easy to navigate; the colours and images are pleasing, and the animals (residents and visitors) are fun to meet. You will find birds, dogs, and a few other creatures as well as cats. Vote in a small poll for your favourite resident - further polls for visiting animals are promised.
MISC CAT LINKS Supreme Cat Show
Thor and Shastri have attended the GCCF's Supreme Cat Show at the NEC in Birmingham. It is the top GCCF show and cats must qualify at club shows in order to enter. More details on the Supreme Show site.
'Our Cats' journal
'Our Cats' is the GCCF's official journal. This site (when fully up and running) includes a directory for breeds and breeders as well as a club directory and the opportunity to subscribe to the publication.
Yahoo! Groups
Search for chat lists covering your own interests. They are free to join, but prepare in some cases to be run off your feet with email.
UK Pets Directory
The UK Pets Directory connects many British pet-related sites, including those belonging to cat breeders, rescue centres, cat clubs, and discussion groups.
The Cat Site
The Cat Site is an international directory, but you might find the contact details of UK breeders, clubs, and other organizations - or add your own.
MISC LINKS (non-cat related or general) Crazy Guy on a Bike
Totally out of his tree - a friend who went on a TransAmerica bicycle trip. Lots of photos and a neat sense of humour! Also bears and chipmunks, and a villainous pitbull.
Paul Murphy
A friend whose main hobby is Medieval Re-enactment. He also has an affection for Citroen cars and Atari computers.
Our Wee Hoose
My favourite Scottish house (apart from my own of course!) Send postcards to let people know you have visited.
eBay UK
The famous Internet auction site - these are items being sold in the UK. Hold tight to your purse strings! This is an addictive pastime - watch that you're not paying more than you would in the local shops. So far I've had no bad experiences, but read the item descriptions, sellers' locations and payment instructions with a clear eye.
